Drum Performance Dedicated to Buncombe Sheriff Deputy Affected by Helene

FIVE YEAR OLD DEDICATES DRUM RECITAL SONG TO BUNCOMBE SHERIFF DEPUTY AFTER HELENE

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, three weeks following Hurricane Helene…Moxxi dedicated his song, "Blessed Be Thy Name" to a Buncombe Sheriff Deputy and his family!

Moxxi's drum gig was performed under the expert tutelage of his teacher John Caldwell at The Music Academy Asheville, along with his fellow drum students who rocked it out for a Hurricane Helene Benefit called The Smashing Drumkins Drumathon.

Four days after Helene hit Asheville, Moxxi's parents took him to Washington DC to escape the danger so his dad could follow through on commitments to his business clients at a hotel with functional internet. While there, they visited the United States Capitol where they met a Capitol Police officer. This kind officer deputized young Moxxi, and gave him five Capitol Police embroidered patches: one for Moxxi to keep and the other four for Moxxi to give to the brave police officers of North Carolina on the front lines.

 Moxxi took on the responsibility with great confidence, and at Sunday service at Biltmore Church he was excited to seek out one of his favorite police officers. As service ended, Moxxi saw him and smoothly exchanged it via a handshake just as the Capitol Officer instructed. The Deputy let out a big smile, and told him that he would give Moxxi a patch from the Buncombe Sheriff's office.

However, in that beautiful moment...it was with deep sadness that Moxxi and his parents learned that this officer and his family lived along one of the Asheville rivers and had everything they own swept away.

So Moxxi turned to scripture; Praising Him with Loud Cymbals - Psalms 150:5 and lifted his song up to the Lord in honor of the Buncombe County Deputy and his family.
